Know the Truth is excited to invite you to be a part of our 2019 "free" Substance Abuse Prevention and Education Red Ribbon Event: Impacting Lives 2 Mold the Future. Our 2018 event was phenomenal and we have been eager to announce that on October 23rd we will be hosting our 2nd year. This year we will be at the Bismarck Event Center from 9 am-1 pm (agenda is subject to change). We wanted to let you know about the opportunity to be our guests. Some of the 2018 highlights included an inspiring story from Taylor Berhow who lost three of his best friends in a driking and driving tradgedy, family members of the 3 boys who lost their lives shared their stories of how this tradgedy has affected them. Klarissa Pudwill directed many community members as well as the Mandan High School SADD Chapter in a skit focused on peer pressure, self-image and addictions. Daniel Rogers directed ND Adutlt & Teen Challenge students in acting out specific moments of impact that were a reality in their lives (human videos). Tru-Serva and his crew were our musical entertainment and did an amazing job connecting with our guests. There was an open-mic that rocked the stadium as both juveniles and adults came together in sharing their persoanl stories and struggles in life to close out our event. There were many more impactful moments through out our day. Know the Truth – the substance use prevention division of North Dakota Adult and Teen Challenge will be heading this event but encourages as much involvement from other resources throughout the community as possible. This event couldn’t be complete without the help of law enforcement, health professionals, and members of the community who are passionate about prevention and addiction recovery. The purpose of this event is to educate all members of the community about the real risks of substance abuse and bringing awareness to some of the root causes of addiction.
If you are interested in sponsoring this event, setting up a booth in our Resource Center, volunteering, or would like to make a donation towards the event please call: 701.667.2131 Ext. 113 and ask for Kacey Streeper .
This statewide event is open to the public so come join us and show your care and support of our community’s youth by educating yourself and helping to educate others on substance use. We look forward to seeing you there!
